Leaderboard V2: Categories and Contextual Reputation

Ethos
April 11, 2025

Reputation isn't universal—it’s context-specific, role-based, and local. Our original leaderboard didn't reflect this nuance effectively, so today we're thrilled to launch Leaderboard V2, bringing categories into focus.

Why Categories Matter

Our contributors—the content creators fueling Ethos—deserve recognition tailored to their impact and the context in which they operate. They're instrumental in helping the community discern who is trustworthy and who isn’t, and it's essential to highlight their contributions clearly.

Launching with Specific Categories

We've introduced categories to provide better insights into credibility within specific domains. Initially, we're starting with the following curated groups:

  • Artists
  • Communities
  • Fantasy (via @fantasy_top_)
  • GameFi
  • KOLs (from @KaitoAI)
  • NFT Projects
  • Publications
  • Tokens
  • VCs

These categories are currently curated by the Ethos team, but we need your insights to refine and expand them effectively. If you notice a notable person, project, or entity missing, you can easily suggest additions directly from the leaderboard page. Simply click the suggestion button located in the bottom left, and we'll review your recommendation promptly.

Contributor Involvement and Data Accuracy

The leaderboard is still in its early stages, and there's significant data to enrich. Starting immediately, accounts featured in these categories will appear more frequently in daily tasks, helping contributors enhance the accuracy and comprehensiveness of our data.

Over time, with community participation, this data will stabilize, ultimately creating a reliable and accurate representation of reputation and credibility across these categories.

Our Vision for the Future

Leaderboard V2 represents a significant step forward in our strategy to deepen community understanding of trust and credibility—not just for individuals, but for businesses, projects, tokens, and more. By clearly segmenting reputation into meaningful contexts, we empower users to make informed decisions about who and what to trust within their respective ecosystems.
