Ethos is Launching on Base Testnet on September 20th

Ethos
September 3, 2024

It’s time.

The killer dApp that pushes crypto forward by rewarding reputation and fighting fraud is nearly here, when we need it the most.

Ethos is launching on Friday, September 20th and we need YOUR help.

Our waitlist to participate on testnet is closing in 24 hours. Are you on it?

Join now and we’ll see you there. 🫡

Ethos, Loading …

We promised to launch Summer of 2024. We’re barely going to squeeze it in there 2 days before the summer ends.. technically.

Here’s what you need to know about the Ethos launch:

1. We’re launching on Base Sepolia (testnet) on September 20th

Only those who are on the waitlist are eligible to participate.

We appreciate early support, but most importantly- we recognize it. All testnet user activities will be recorded and monitored for future rewards, including future acknowledgement of your participation in the testnet (aka, custom sticker packs 🧌).

Ethos gets the most value out of the testnet by pressure testing all facets of the app, including the smart contracts and the webapp.

We will be looking for testnet users to try out all corners of the product including creating your profile, reviewing others, vouching for people, installing the chrome extension, etc. We will explicitly lay these parameters out after the testnet launch.

Community members who are aligned with our vision and contribute valuable feedback upon testnet launch will be eligible to be a part of the Ethos mainnet launch, which is limited to 100 initial invites. Each of the initial invites will have one additional invite to give out and beyond that, invitations will be limited.

This is your chance to increase your eligibility for the initial 100 invites – we will take note of those who contribute to Ethos by sharing feedback, writing reviews, identifying bugs, discussing enhancements with the team and more.

Your feedback is invaluable to us as we build this first iteration of Ethos. We need your help in understanding what works, what’s broken, what’s confusing, and what we should get rid of.

So PLEASE tell us. I will be responding personally to every inbound request we get.

2. You still have 24 hours to sign up for the waitlist.

24 hours from this post, we will be closing the waitlist.

Testnet will be your best shot at participating in Ethos early as when we launch on mainnet, it will be invite only.

All testnet users will be sent Sepolia eth along with their Ethos invites, so you do not need to worry about getting access to a faucet. Your address will have everything you need

As a reminder, you must have 0.1e in your wallet to join the waitlist. Sign up here.

3. Our Discord community will open to the public at launch.

Now that we have a product to share, use, and build together, it feels appropriate to launch our community.

We’re looking for people who are not only interested and engaged with Ethos, but have a general alignment with our overall vision – crypto is full of fraud, and we must fix it in order to continue to onboard the rest of the world.

Does reading about a rug pull raise your blood pressure?  Do you feel like your acts of kindness, project, or art are underappreciated? Are you tired of airdrops getting farmed by sybils who immediately dump tokens, when you should instead be rewarded for authentically supporting a project?

Do you care about ethics and morals in crypto?

Soon, we’ll have a place for all of that. Not only can we use Ethos’ protocol to gauge and objectify this, but our Discord will act as a common ground to support one another and build a more ethical crypto future.

The Ethos Discord will be the best way to get in contact with the team, to give feedback, and ultimately drive towards a more trusted and safe onchain experience.

We’ll also gauge demand for a Telegram community during the testnet.

4. We are guaranteed to break some shit together.

If you’re not embarrassed by what you’ve shipped, you waited too long to ship.

There are bugs. Ethos web mobile support is just okay. Credibility scores are pretty easily hackable. Notifications work .. mostly. Bot protection? We should have it by then 😅

We’re proud of what we shipped with this first iteration of Ethos on testnet, but please take it at face value. We’re showing a product's guts before they are polished. This is how we know how to build software.

Credibility scores are going to be out of whack. People are going to be upset about their initial scores. Someone’s going to send 500k negative reviews to someone while the devs are sleeping.

This is why we need you, and this is your chance to help us drive towards the change you want to see in Ethos.

So, please, break shit.

See you on September 20th.

Buckle up.
