# Ethos Network

> Ethos is an onchain reputation protocol on Base. Look anyone up by X handle or wallet address to see their credibility score, the reviews other people wrote about them, and who vouched for them with real money, before you deal with them. Profiles exist for X accounts and wallets whether or not their owner has joined.

Also known as: Ethos, Ethos Network, ethos.network, Ethos credibility score, $WHUF (the token).
Not to be confused with the Greek concept, the 2018 exchange, or other companies called Ethos.

## How it works

- A credibility score from 0 to 2800, starting at a neutral 1200, built from reviews, vouches, invitations, slashes and human verification. Levels run from untrusted to renowned; established and above is a positive signal.
- Reviews are positive, neutral or negative assessments one user leaves about another, weighted by the reviewer’s own credibility and voted on by members. Only the author can edit or remove a review.
- Vouching stakes $WHUF on a person; vouchers lose credibility score if that person is successfully slashed. Slashing is a public accusation decided by a 48-hour weighted vote; today it affects credibility score.
- Human verification: three already-verified members confirm a real person in person or on a call, with their own score at stake. No biometrics.
- Ethos Markets: trust and distrust votes on a profile, priced by an automated market maker in $WHUF, created by the profile’s owner.
